Solra uses your phone's accelerometer to detect a specific shake pattern. It works even when your phone is locked, in your pocket, or in your bag. You can adjust the sensitivity in settings. One firm shake triggers the SOS countdown, giving you a few seconds to cancel if it was accidental.
Solra has full offline mode. When you trigger SOS without internet, the app automatically falls back to SMS, sending your emergency contacts a text message with your last known GPS coordinates. As soon as connectivity returns, it syncs the full alert data.
No. Your location is only shared when you explicitly activate a safety feature — SOS, Safe Walk, or live sharing. Solra never tracks or stores your location in the background. Privacy first, always. You control exactly who sees your location and when.
Your trusted contacts are notified within 3 seconds of triggering SOS. Nearby verified responders in the Solra network typically respond within minutes, depending on your location. In Cairo, our average response time is under 5 minutes.
